The Domesday Book - Ghostlands.

So I'm in the mood to wax a bit lyrical. I doubt anyone will read this until next I post a comic (Well except maybe Stronza. Stronza, I know you're out there!). Doubtless we'll all be living on the Moon and taking our meals in pill form by then.

Anyhow, down to business. It's a thought that I've had rattling about for a while now, but haven't yet had the time or inclination to act on it... I propose we write a collaborative history of the Ghostlands!

The easiest way to do this, I'd imagine, would be to make a timeline of major events: - Guilds forming and disbanding, major events, (im) famous forum posts and the like. Eventually, once it was fleshed out a bit, we could add it to the WoWwiki page, and perhaps even provide some illustrations...

Now, the first major problem with this project is collecting information. Most of us have a fairly good working knowledge of major events of the past year or so, but the devil's in the detail! What we need are first hand reports. Did you sign such-and-such a guild's charter? Were you there when X happened? I think the best way to overcome this would be via a forum megathread. Someone could be at the helm, updating the timeline as people posted their versions of events, and various other recollections. Even stories! Sometimes history needs a bit of a lyrical flourish to tell it properly.

The second major problem is accuracy. Some people are gonna have conflicting versions of events which need to be addressed. The only solution I can think of for this one is good old fashioned mob rule! We'll go with the majority version of events, unless someone can produce some awesome citation that blows all of our minds.

Lastly, I think drama is gonna be a problem. We'd probably be opening more than a few old wounds, and there's no doubt that we'll get a lot of arguments over whose version of events should be considered canon...

There's a lot of other factors to consider. I don't doubt that I've overlooked something glaringly obvious, and I'll get shot down for it later - but like I said, it's just a thought. It can be fleshed out or cut down as people see fit.

Comments are welcome (No seriously, I'm lonely) :P

Spam Wednesday returns! Again!

Ahah! The plot thickens! And it was already pretty thick to begin with...

By my count, this will be the third time I've tried to write a Big Dumb Adventure. This time, I totally intend to probably go through with it! To be honest, it retains the same story as the last time I tried to write it, it's just better defined this time... Anyway, more to come, and I hope you like it!
